MORE From The Weekend!

Just because I am horrible at NOT sharing things. (As I have recently learned from my inability to post the bridal portraits I captured of my dear friend until AFTER she walks down the aisle this weekend.... Only 3 more days!!!)

Another family shoot tomorrow evening and another possibility for absolutely adorable-ness. And yes... That is a word. Google it.

Teeny Tiny Emma

Round 2 this past weekend was the OH so gorgeous newborn Emma.

Oh this made me want another little bundle. Especially if it is a little girlie bundle to help combat the overload of testosterone in our house with my husband and these three little munchkins we've got.

How absolutely precious is she! You always forget how little they are when yours grow up. Man I miss my sweet little babies. Not so much the not sleeping... Well, who am I kidding. Mine still don't sleep all night and my youngest is almost 2!

But I digress. I have a million and one more photos to go through from this session, but these were a few of my favorites. And how could I resist NOT posting a few of these!

Next up.... The Sutton's! (Who were a blast might I add!)

Sweet Little Kaleb

What. A. Weekend.

The photography has literally taken off out from under me. I had 3 sessions this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them.

First up was some time with Kaleb and his parents.

He was absolutely adorable and they were such a pleasure to work with. The photos were taken on Katie's (Kaleb's Mom) grandmothers property. Wow. I was literally blown away when I drove up. A gorgeous older red wooden house, perfectly landscaped grounds, a lake, and a ornate Japanese Garden. It was a dream!

I am thinking of bribing her grandmother with some freshly baked cookies to see if she will allow me to visit again. Or maybe a bottle of wine wince she offered me a glass while I was there.... Either way, I have been dreaming of her house.

On to Session 2! Teeny Tiny Emma!

The Koger Family

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing my aunt and uncle, their children, and the boyfriends and girlfriend of their children. Photographing large groups always intimidates me. I suppose because the chances of someone not cooperating or making a crazy face while the rest of the photo is perfect are a lot higher.

Lesson Learned- The more people in the photo, the harder it is to get good photos.

Not my favorite odds.

I still got SOME shots that I love though.

A few...

Thank you for looking! 3 shoots in this weekend INCLUDING my first newborn shoot! Which I am ecstatic about!

New Direction!

I have made the decision to shift this puppy to reflect my new life path!

Samantha Vickers Photography is quickly turning into something bigger than I expected and I cannot even begin to express how excited I am. My passion is turning into a business and THAT is something I never thought would happen. Doing something I love for the rest of my life.... Yes please!

So, here we go! I should have a Facebook page up and running by the end of the week!

Keep your eyes peeled, check it out, enjoy! I know I am!

Sweet Baby Reese

As I mentioned in the last post, I recently had the pleasure of photographing the absolutely precious, Miss Reese. Having three boys (and NO little girls) had me all excited for this one. I absorbed all of the sweet baby girl lovin' I could while it lasted and even made a last stitch effort to steal her away at the end, but I finally gave in and gave her back.

But I digress. I got to photograph her, her mother, and her aunt in a session that would end up being a learning experience.

Lesson #1- When little tempers flare, you have to get crafty. At 2 months old, Reese felt one way about having her picture taken and made it known. That feeling.... NOT happy.

Lesson #2- Multi-task. Every photo of Mom and Aunt was taken while I held Reesey Piecey. Bask in the wonder that is my talent. I think being a mom to three little boys has seriously prepared me for this. I knew they would come in handy one day! Just kidding, just kidding.

Lesson #3- Photographing sweet baby girls is not going to give me my fill of sweet little girlieness, it is only going to fuel my desire to have one myself. My husband figured this out post shoot.

Overall- I would say it was a success. Angry 2 month old and all. Sure there are things I wish I would have done, but I am happy with the shots that I got and so is the family.

Now.... Some more photos!

Thank you for checking them out!

Also, I started working on the bridal portraits.... Waiting to post them is going to KILL me! They turned out gorgeous!

Have a fantastic Tuesday!

Photo Sessions!

Since advertising on my Facebook page that I would be doing photo sessions  to gain more experience and also give my family a break from the harassment, my schedule has gotten amazingly busy!

The response has been truly amazing. Photography has always been one of my biggest passions and knowing that others have seen my photography of my boys and my family and liked it enough to want me to photograph them really gives me chills. I am truly one very lucky girl and I cannot wait to see where this leads. Especially as I grow and learn!

Now... A few little sneak peeks of my Friday evening session with one Miss Reese. How precious is she!

She was not a happy camper for the session, but man was she precious.

Angry faces and all... More to come!

Photography Firsts

Daddy and Brady walking into the sunset on our most recent vacation to Fort Morgan this past summer.

This afternoon, in one hour to be exact, I will be leaving work to take my very first set of bridal portraits.

The excitement I feel is immeasurable.

Capturing someone's special moments for them to hold onto forever..... It gives me butterflies in the best possible way.

If I ever had affirmation that this is what I NEED to be doing, this is it.

As if I needed more of a boost into photography. I have a newborn sessions arranged and that newborn made her way into this world today at 10:35.

Bridals, newborns, LIFE.

I cannot wait to learn and grow and turn this into something great.

Halloween Costume Shoot!

I would like a pat on the back.

First off for learning my lesson after two years of waiting too late to buy the boys Halloween costumes and having to settle and FINALLY buying the costumes well in advance.

And also for allowing the boys to pick out their own costumes instead of choosing for them to make sure that they went together n a themed fashion. EVEN IF Brady and Mason ended up wanting to be the same thing which made my themed costume loving self proud...

AND for getting my butt into gear and finishing their costume shoot before we even hit the first day of October.

Now.... Pat please.

Mason and Brady settled on police men this year, which quickly threw me into a tailspin of insisting that Ethan be a robber/bad guy/jail bird/anything that would fit with police men.

Jail bird it was.

Is my child going to have a complex? Are we setting him up for a life of crime? Last year we dressed him up like a little devil and this year he is a convict....

I digress. They went together. The theme is precious. The pictures.... Well the pictures turned out PRICELESS.

Best Halloween photos ever? I think so. Biased or not!

Also, please know that while you are scrolling through these photos soaking up the awesomeness that is my children completely getting into character for these.... Know that I am singing the Cops themesong. It is NOT complete without it, so I suggest you do the same. Continue.

Ok. Probably THE best kids Halloween costume photo EVER taken ion the history of Halloween costume photos.... No this was not planned. No we didn't shoot for this. This is the rage that ensues when you try to get Ethan to hold his brothers' hands.... It ended up being a pretty realistic shot though!

Happy October everyone! Who's ready for Halloween!
